2008 Spring "Workin' It!" Fashion Show

You are invited to join us for the Spring 2008 "Workin' It!" Fashion Show benefiting Connections to Success & Dress for Success Midwest. Don't miss this opportunity to honor and support a wonderful organization celebrating its 10th Anniversary of service to low-income women and men in the greater St. Louis area.

Over-the-top Accessories: Attendees are invited to wear at least one extra fashion accessory to the show. Handbags, scarves and jewelry items will be collected at the door by the "Fashion Police" and donated to Dress for Success inventory. Now that's turning a fashion "don't" into a fashion "do".

Runway Show: Featuring women's apparel from the Carlisle Collection and the urban skyline of downtown St. Louis as a backdrop, the runway show follows a group of smart, sexy and stylish women as they successfully navigate the spring fashion landscape. They want it all: friends, family, career, and of course, romance. Follow alone as they travel from a spa get-away to a busy workday at the office. We end the show as they spend a glamorous night on the town, dining and dancing with the men in their lives.

The Big Reveal: Be there at the start of the show to meet a Connections to Success client who has been given an "Extreme Makeover" by our dream team of fashion, health and beauty experts and sponsors. See the 'before" images on the big screen and prepare to be wowed by the results of a 3-month-long process, revealed in person on the runway.

The Power of Attraction: No other event will attract such a powerful and connected group of women: Women who raise children, own businesses, travel the world, and look great while they're doing it. We invite you to showcase your company or product in front of these women, along with the daughters, sisters, mothers, boyfriends and husbands who support them. 500+ are expected to attend.

Connections to Success

Connections to Success (CtS) is a local nonprofit whose vision is to "break the cycle of poverty, one family at a time." You may know them by Dress for Success Midwest, which is one of their programs. This program provides donated suits for women to wear to job interviews. Over 25,000 women have received assistance in the nine years Dress for Success Midwest has been open!

CtS finds solutions to the life-scarring experiences of homelessness, welfare dependency, violence, incarceration and their accompanying trappings such as poor health conditions. Ours is a program of intervention, education, training and support, with the intermediary goal of establishing a healthy balance, followed by the overarching goal to end the cycle of risk factors that trigger severe and lasting disadvatages, some of which span generations.

Our mission is to empower determined individuals with a plan and resources to achieve economic self-reliance.
